We aim to recognize the limitations of Western psychology, work toward dismantling power-over culture, explore our own identities and privileges, and the multi-faceted nature of social injustice in all that we do. We are vehemently against any form of discrimination, prejudice, and/or hostility directed towards a person or people based upon their identity and beliefs. We do not tolerate any form of racism, sexism, ableism, heterosexism, ageism, or differential treatment due to religious beliefs.

Hello!

My name is Erin Therrien

I am constantly learning new things about the human experience, neuroscience, and connection. This knowledge, my experience in attachment-focused therapy, and my broad background in other fields helps me to understand and support my clients.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Attachment and Bio-behavioral Catch-up (ABC), sand tray therapy and clinical supervision. I continue to broaden my skills in somatic practices and neurodiversity-affirming care, as well.

Services

I provide therapy services primarily to adults and absolutely love working with people addressing their mental health during parenthood, adults with ADHD, and autistic adults. I have limited room for Early Childhood and Couples clients.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy allows individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive environment. I utilize effective techniques such as EMDR, somatic practices that focus on the connection between the body and mind, and sand tray therapy, which provides a creative way to express and process emotions. These methods can help individuals gain insight, heal from past traumas, and develop coping strategies for a healthier future.

Early Childhood Therapy

Early Childhood therapy focuses on promoting emotional and social well-being in young children, typically from birth to age 5. It involves helping children develop healthy relationships, manage emotions, and cope with challenges in their environment. This therapy requires the participation of caregivers to ensure a supportive atmosphere that fosters growth and resilience. By addressing mental health needs early, we can set the foundation for lifelong emotional health and success.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is aimed at helping partners improve their relationship and resolve conflicts by understanding each other's perspectives, enhancing intimacy, and rebuilding trust. Relationships are central to our well-being and it is often helpful to address mental health in the context of one of your most important relationships.

What to expect

Getting started in therapy can feel daunting. I aim to help ease the process and make my clients feel comfortable as we get to know each other. I offer 15 minute video consults to help determine if we'd be a good fit, then we set up an intake session.

I use a paperless system and ask clients to complete online assessments and a questionnaire prior to the intake session. This session is primarily focused on gathering information about what brings you to therapy, and in the following few sessions we co-create goals that are meaningful to you.

Insurance

The Center for Family Wellness accepts BCBS, UnitedHealthcare, UMR, Medica, Ucare, Health Partners, and Medical Assistance plans. We are also an EAP provider for AllOne. Co-pays are due at the time of service.
